Getting Started

Folioz helps you track cash, credit, and investments using a simple, double-entry ledger.

Quick tips

  • Create accounts (Bank, Cash, Credit) and start recording transactions.
  • Use Journal to review entries, and Reports to see your financial position.
  • If you track investments, add instruments and check Unrealized P/L.

Import / Export

You can move your data in and out of the app using structured files (e.g., JSON), so your ledger stays portable.

Tip: Keep a periodic export as a backup, especially before major updates or device changes.

FAQ

How do I record a typical expense?
Use double-entry: debit an expense account (e.g., Food) and credit Cash or your credit card account.
How does credit card tracking work?
Record purchases as expenses credited to your card account. When you pay the bill, debit the card account and credit Bank.
Can I import/export my data?
Yes. Folioz supports structured import/export (such as JSON) to keep your ledger portable and reusable.
Does the app use iCloud?
iCloud sync is optional. If enabled, your data is synchronized via Apple iCloud. The developer does not access your iCloud data.
How do I restore purchases?
Open Settings in the app and use Restore Purchases. Ensure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID used to purchase.

Privacy

Folioz is designed to keep your personal finance data under your control. Most data is stored locally on your device. Third-party services (e.g., ads) may collect limited device data for their own purposes.
